My Funky Little Diary: A Trip to London

Dear readers,

Have you ever went to a city/country that you've been to when you were little and after years and years, you finally come there again in your older version? Well, let's just say I am very lucky to be here and tell you my experience, going to The Square Mile or maybe I should call it as London City...

JUST A REMINDER, THIS BLOG IS NOT SPONSORED BUT I WOULD LIKE TO RECOMMEND A FEW BRANDS

The View from London Eye

How do I start?

So, it all began when my grandmother came to town...

My parents, my brother, and I decided to spend the summer holidays in London. I was actually really excited when I heard the news and I knew it was only going to be a one hour and a half trip, so my brother won't be too grumpy on the plane. By the way, I do recommend on buying cheaper plane tickets, like British Airway, EasyJet, RyanAir, etc (if you are travelling from the UK). I recommend so because it is only a short flight (doesn't take a whole day). And also, be sure to start planning how you are going to pack a few days before your flight and so, it wouldn't be a hectic rush if you pack the night before and have your flight in the morning...

So now you know what I did before I went to London:
  1. Booked the flight tickets and hotel (cheap & easy)
  2. Slowly packed a few nights before the flight

Anyway, we got on to our flight on time and spent the rest of the trip, either sleeping or daydreaming. And finally, we arrived in London and believe me; it was spectacular. We went on a taxi and stayed at a hotel apartment there. And for our first day at London, we stayed in our room, relaxing for the night. The next day, we went on a city bus tour, but mind you: if the traffic is very stationary, then the bus won't follow the official map route, like it is in the brochure/leaflet. Fortunately, we arrived at Madam Tussuad's and took loads of selfies on the famous wax models...PS: it's best if you buy the tickets online first because the queue is very long. I also went to numerous other tourist spots and museums: such as the Natural History Museum, Westminster Abbey, etc...

The next day, we decided to go to hop on a boat from the Tower of London pier and travel towards the London Eye. It was a really fun boat ride: they provided us seats, a great view, a top deck (which we didn't go up to because of the extreme hot weather), and a mini bar filled with snacks and drinks. Although it was quite a peaceful ride, when boat arrived at Westminster pier (opposite of London Eye), a stampede of passengers came running in the boat, so I would definitely not recommend to hop off at Westminster pier, (unless you can get off the boat). Also, if you are planning to head towards London Eye with a stroller or pram, it is best to go straight to the pier beside London Eye because there is a huge bridge separating the two piers that unfortunately include many steps of stairs. Anyway, we safely arrived on the pier and scram towards the famous London Eye.

Once we arrived at London Eye, we were very lucky that the queue wasn't too long or else the hot sun might burn us alive, (just trying to give an exact impression of Summer 2018, btw). Anyway, I would definitely recommend taking loads of photos and maybe even videos (similar to the picture at the top of my blog) because it will be a memory that you may want to keep once you've flewn home from London-'cause it sort of was for me. So after London Eye, I also went to numerous tourist spots, like Shrek's Adventure, London Dungeon, and Sea Life Aquarium. I enjoyed those times so much, especially a holiday with my family.

After the fun two weeks in London, it was time to pack up and return to Glasgow. With a heavy heart I did so, and before I knew it the plane was speeding up and so I waved London goodbye and settled down in a nap as the plane took off into the bright blue sky...😄😄😄
